Τεκμήριο Analyzing value co-creation in service systems: contribution from GORE(2011-03) Fragidis, Garyfallos; Tarabanis, KonstantinosService systems are characterized mostly by the co-creation of value in the interactions between service providers and customers. In this paper we examine the possibility to use GORE methodologies and techniques for the analysis of value cocreation in service systems. We regard value co-creation as an abstract, high-end goal of the customer that is accomplished through the integration of service from providers and the complementary application of proprietary resources from the customer and examine the possibility to analyze it with AND/OR goal diagrams. In addition, we examine six GORE methodologies and assess their relevance to the requirements analysis of value co-creation. The results show that GORE can provide a promising methodological foundation for the analysis of value co-creation. In particular, softgoals and “satisficing” objectives are extremely useful in analyzing value co-creation and the representation of services as nodes in AND/OR graphs can elicit both the valuerelated and the activity-related properties of the notion.Τεκμήριο Exploiting Concept Mapping in a Semantic Web Environment(2005) Giouvanakis, Thanasis; Fragidis, Garyfallos; Kehris, Eyaggelos; Samaras, HaidoOntologies provide a formal representation of a conceptualization of a specific domain. This paper proposes an easy and natural way to create ontologies through concept mapping. We also present the well-grounded theoretical framework, which supports concept mapping as a valuable educational activity and as a navigational tool.Τεκμήριο myCourse: an educational content management platform with social networking characteristics(2010) Giouvanakis, Thanasis; Fragidis, Garyfallos; Ignatiadis, Ioannis; Koumpis, AdamantiosWe adopt the direction towards new educational and pedagogic paradigms, where learning is a process of emergence and co-evolution of the individual, the social group and the wider society. In this direction, Service-Oriented Architectures are becoming a popular system paradigm for e-learning. In this article, we present our research and development efforts to provide a social networking learning platform for developing services which address the personal learning needs of the users and enable them to create value. We also present the specific characteristics of our community driven service framework and discuss our approach in comparison to other similar approaches and frameworks.Τεκμήριο New trends and opportunities for E-marketing in tourism businesses(Τ.Ε.Ι. The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the way in which tourism businesses can predict new tourism trends in e-marketing and adopt them before their competitors in order to develop competitive advantage at the least possible risk. In order to achieve the objectives of the dissertation, we reviewed at the beginning the literature and the business practice with regard to the basic strategies and techniques of E-marketing in the tourism sector, emphasis was given to some recent development with regard to Search Engine Marketing, Viral Marketing, E-mail Marketing, Marketing through the use of Social Media, as well as exclusive E-marketing tourism techniques. In order to identify the emerging trends in e-marketing in the tourism sector, we employed the Gartner Hype Cycle as a method that shows in a graphical representation the development, the evolution and the maturity of marketing technologies. This way we identified five emerging trends in e-marketing that are considered already mature and they can be implemented currently and exploited by the tourism businesses. These trends refer to advocacy marketing, content marketing and native marketing, as well as to the technologies related to personalization marketing and social analytics. We explain the characteristics of all these marketing trends and techniques and examine their potential impact in tourism.Τεκμήριο The role of the concierge in improving guest’s experience and revenue metrics(Τ.Ε.Ι. Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας, 2019-04) Sarigiannakis, Vasileios; Σαρηγιαννάκης, Βασίλειος; Fragidis, Garyfallos; Φραγκίδης, Γαρύφαλλος; Σχολή Διοίκησης και Οικονομίας, Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων; MBA in Hospitality & TourismEver since the medieval years, hospitality establishments offered services to fulfill the needs and experiences of their guests and visitors through innovative concierge or personalized services. How important do you think that the role of a concierge is in building a customer‘s loyalty? What means can ―the keeper of the keys‖ use to build revenue for the hotel? Can a concierge be used as a useful marketing tool? Is the future of concierges in imminent danger of being replaced by technology? This thesis will advance the framework through a case study to determine the role of the concierge in the current hospitality industry, examine the role of technology and how it will affect the role of the concierge and finally whether guest relations is the key to offer great experiences and quality service in order to build revenue in the touristic product. The purpose of this research is to analyze, first, how and why customers in luxury resorts seek concierge services and, second, how these services are and will be applied in the luxury hotels. Consequently, we will present the benefits of a satisfied customer. The methodology is based on a case study, using both primary and secondary sources.Τεκμήριο Three application scenarios for use in the myCourse educational environment(2011-03-18) Giouvanakis, Thanasis; Fragidis, GaryfallosIn order for a user to develop rich and valid knowledge structures, not only is considerable predefined content required, but other equally important types of knowledge as well. In other words, to display real understanding and to build and extend their knowledge structures, users have to call on several resources as well as representation, retrieval and construction mechanisms. Apart from the specific content, on which traditional educational environments focus on, a user depends heavily on general content knowledge and on systems of knowledge that is more abstract and elusive than typical content. In this article, we document our myCourse approach presenting three application scenarios. In these scenarios, knowledge creation is a process of emergence and co-evolution of the individual, the social group and the wider society.Τεκμήριο Towards an ontological foundation of service dominant logic(2011-02) Fragidis, Garyfallos; Tarabanis, KonstantinosThe development of service science requires an appropriate theoretical foundation; S-D logic has been proposed as a candidate. Nevertheless, the application of the principles of S-D logic in service science suffers from inconsistencies and misunderstanding. In this paper we provide an ontological representation of S-D logic in order to clarify its key concepts and analyze their relationships. The paper contributes in the establishment of S-D logic as the foundational theory of service science, the resolution of inconsistencies and misunderstandings, the improved understanding of the concepts of S-D logic and the improved communication of experts from diverse areas in the multidisciplinary field of service science.
