It investigates the interest of disabled people in working, their current and past employment status, the field and the duration of employment as well as the importance of several factors contributing to job-seeking. In addition the article examines the means exploited in the process of finding a job, attitudes while working, as well as comparing the performance of disabled people at work to that of other employees. Based on the results of a primary research survey undertaken in the FYR of Macedonia, this paper examines top priority sectors of such inter-regional cooperation. Countries for cooperation were selected on the basis of factors of importance, such as geography, scale of economic cooperation, intra-Balkan conflicts and the degree of participation of Balkan countries in the European integration process; sectors of cooperation are ranked on the basis of specific local authorities needs in each country. More specifically, in the case of Balkan countries, cooperation between local societies, apart from contributing to local development and strengthening the role of local authorities, it could also contribute towards reinforcing security, stability, peace and friendship among the populations of the region.Τεκμήριο The Trade Balance of Greece in the Euro Era(2013-11) Magoulios, Giorgos; Athianos, StergiosThe current article examines the trade balance of Greece in the Euro era, in general, and in particular within the Member States of the Euro Zone (EZ). It was found that in the Euro-era, the Greek trade balance has deteriorated in general and particularly within the Member States of the EZ, while losses in competitiveness of the Greek economy have been observed. The structure of production and foreign trade affect the trade deficit and competitiveness of the Greek economy. Moreover, the more rapid rates of inflation in Greece, compared with its trading partners, led to a revaluation of the real exchange rate in the country, affecting its export performance.Τεκμήριο Women entrepreneurship: problems and means of finance(2011) Magoulios, Giorgos; Kydros, DimitriosOne of the obstacles women entrepreneurs face is their access to financing. As in the rest of the developed world, in the EU and Greece special financial tools were created, aiming at specific groups, in our case, women. This paper attempts to review relevant literature, to highlight the need for incentives to SMEs and in particular to women entrepreneurs, to list the financial instruments in the EU and Greece, which generally relate to SMEs, especially in women who own or will create a business. The specific financial tools to strengthen women's entrepreneurship in Greece, despite the steps taken in recent years, are still limited. Those tools are more or less the same for women as for all entrepreneurs.Τεκμήριο Α comparative analysis between the economies of Greece and Ireland(2011) Magoulios, Giorgos; Exarchos, GeorgeThis paper aims to compare the economies of two of the EU countries of cohesion – Greece and Ireland – which are countries displaying similar initial macroeconomic and structural characteristics. Greece and Ireland have been included in the EU countries of cohesion because of their low level of development. However, Ireland showed higher growth rates in comparison to Greece. The article examines the factors that contributed to the difference in growth rates between the two countries under study. Amongst the most important factors to the advantage of Ireland are: the higher emphasis that Ireland laid on research and technology, the reforms that Ireland performed in education and training, its developmental strategy to attract foreign investments, its neighborhood with the United Kingdom, as well as the financial transfers of the European Union to Ireland.
