The aim of this work is to examine to what extent Digital Manufacturing Technologies are incorporated in Greek Education System. The research documents (1)where and how 3D printers and laser cutters are currently being used in the Greek education system, (2)the learning outcomes of the use of Digital Manufacturing Technologies alongside 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) in education programs, and (3)the results of the evaluation of Life-Long Learning programs in 3D CAD accompanied by 3D printing and laser cutting for product design and prototyping that International Hellenic University has delivered. The research showed that the implementation of these technologies in greek public schools is still at an early stage but in the last few years there has been an increasing interest in 3d printing and many primary and secondary schools are acquiring 3d printers for educational purposes. In Universities, the use is more common in Engineering Schools where digital manufacturing technologies are used mainly for student project work, research and internal applications of the school labs. It is noted, though, that many academic institutions have incorporated courses that use Digital Manufacturing Technologies. Through analysing the questionnaires of past students of such courses, a number of learning outcomes were identified, including creativity, design skills, excitement, knowledge, know-how, understanding and increased interest.
