Training methods for law Enforcement officers

Abstract

This thesis represents analyses of past studies on police training. The current research is focused on training methods applied on law enforcement officers. It aims at investing the training methods that police departments use in order to train their personnel. Many studies are concerned with police training which took part in various countries. From those, 51 of them were selected as more representatives. Most of the articles are referred to training programs implemented in the USA, all of them preferred on-the-job training that was applied to officers and the duration varied from few hours to many years. The evolution of training methods and especially those applied on law enforcement officers necessitates the implementation of further research.
